Smooth drop offs and pick ups

I am requesting your help with smooth arrivals and departures from childcare.

Children flourish with strong routines and your educator needs your support with daily routines including:

• Arrivals
• Story and Song circle time
• Park & excursion Time
• Meals and Sleep time

Arriving at the same time each day helps your child arrive and settle with other children. 

• Last minute changes to arrival and departure times are disruptive and unsettling for children
• Arriving late can mean that it can be difficult for your child to arrive and settle into a group of kids that have already bonded.
• Arriving late can mean your child has missed out on the morning education program

Please keep adult talk to a minimum - splitting our attention does not support your child.

• During pick up please saturate your child in your love and attention. Sitting down on the carpet near the 'shoe shop' and putting their shoes on is a great help.

Children pick up on all our anxieties, so in most cases a quick drop off is best, and this helps speed up the settling in period. (there are exceptions, and you can talk to your educator or Ignite Minds about your unique situation.)
